Thanks to Nancy and Nina (Angie's mom & sister), for allowing me to share this story with
others, and for providing this cute picture of Angie and Mista.

Angie and Mister
Angie and Tigger-Puff (aka: Mista-Mista)

The story of "Angie's message to her mom" is important to me for a couple of reasons.  First, I believe Angie delivered a message to me, to be given to her mother.  Second,  I learned a great deal about not trying to "interpret" a message myself, but just deliver what is being given.

It seemed as normal as any other conversation I have ever had - at the time.  I woke in the wee hours of the morning on December 12, 2006 and was "actively" speaking to Angie, the deceased sister of my co-worker, Nina.  There was no question in my mind who I was conversing with, or the intent of the message.  My only delimma was how to deliver this message to my co-worker, without upsetting or insulting her.  Well, I took a chance and gave her the message via our office Instant Messenger program, because I was too chicken to bring up the subject face-to-face.  I saved the chat transcript, fully believing I would need it one day.  I'm so glad I did.

Basically, Angie gave me an image of a Christmas tree with miniature multi-colored lights on it.   The colors kept changing on the tree and the "knowledge" I was given with it was "Missy, Misty or Mitzy (which I knew was an animal) says 'change lights'."  Because I saw the colors of the tree change, my logical brain tried to interpret that as "changing colors or changing lights."  The one thing I knew for certain was that this message was for Nina's and Angie's mom, Nancy.

You will see the content of Nina's and my chat transcript below.  Please take a moment to read it and then find out what the message ultimately meant.

Ok, question

Nina (12/12/2006 9:32:39 AM)
shoot

Katherine (12/12/2006 9:34:01 AM)
First, let me tell you that I had a dream about Angie last night

Katherine (12/12/2006 9:35:48 AM)
She said (and I can't remember which name) to tell you guys that "Missy", "Mitzy" or "Misty" keeps "changing the lights" or "changing lights"

Katherine (12/12/2006 9:36:25 AM)
Actually, it might have been "changing colors" or "changing the colors"

Katherine (12/12/2006 9:36:36 AM)

It was something to that effect.

Nina Mclarry (12/12/2006 9:38:06 AM)

OMG! really?

Nina (12/12/2006 9:38:24 AM)

that is very strange! I would like to talk to you further about this when we have a moment!

Katherine (12/12/2006 9:38:46 AM)

Ok, anyway, I think that message is supposed to be for your mom.  Does that message make any sense to you at all?

Nina (12/12/2006 9:41:28 AM)
oooh! that would make sense!

Katherine (12/12/2006 10:20:17 AM)
So between your mom and your sister, what were all the animal's names?  It seemed strange to me b/c I do associate it w/ an animal......since I used to have a "Misty"

At this point, we took a break and went running outside so we could discuss it further.
I told Nina about the vision of the Christmas tree with the little multi-colored lights on it.

Nina informed me that the animal I was talking about was Angie's cat, named "Mista."

Katherine (12/12/2006 11:26:52 AM)
Here's the thing:  If your mom has had anything happen w/ the lights on that christmas tree, you need to make sure she knows it's from the cat.  God, I feel stupid saying that. LOL

Nina (12/12/2006 12:04:20 PM)
don't feel stupid. we have very open minds about this kind of thing! it's kinda cool!

Katherine (12/12/2006 12:04:31 PM)
ok, let me know what she says, please.

Nina and I thought long and hard about what this message could mean.  Of course she told her mom about it, but even Nancy was perplexed as to the meaning.  It wasn't until about a month later that we discovered what it all meant.

Apparently, Nancy (Angie's and Nina's mom), had purchased a little ceramic Christmas Tree at a church rummage sale and put in on display in Angie's bedroom for the holidays.  She didn't think much about it until Nina told her about the message from Angie.  Of course, that caused Nancy to become a little paranoid about the tree, so she stopped turning it on unless she was in the room while it was lit.

Sometime after Christmas, Nancy's sister, aunt DD, was visiting (who just happens to share the same birthday as Angie).  She has a slight fascination with things that light up, so decided to check out the little Christmas Tree in Angie's bedroom.  When she removed the top portion of the tree, she was shocked to discover that someone had put in a much higher-wattage bulb than what the tree required, and it still contained the plastic wrapping around it - which had already melted around the bulb.

Only then did they realize the tree had been sitting in Mista's spot, where he took his daily naps.

Angie had been trying to tell her mom to change the light on that little multi-colored Christmas Tree, which sat in Mista's spot.
